We have a robust education program that starts with our youngest learners. Our monthly PreK program introduces Judaism with hands-on activities, stories, and music. Our religious school prepares students for their B’nai Mitzvah with Hebrew education, community service, and fun and meaningful activities. Religious school is open to Beth Israel members only.

Bar or Bat Mitzvah is a milestone in our families’ lives. We prepare your children through one-on-one sessions with our B’nai Mitzvah educator and Rabbi Feshbach so that they may lead the congregation in prayer to mark this special occasion.
B’nei Mitzvah services take place during Shabbat morning services, where our children are called to read from the Torah. Family members are honored with Aliyot.

From 7th to 11th grades, our students join the community at the BJE Kulanu School of Jewish Studies. At Kulanu, students enrich their Jewish identities through substantive Jewish learning, communal engagement, and connection to Israel. Kulanu's goal is for our teens to become inspired and engaged lifelong learners, committed to living a Jewish life guided by Jewish values and traditions as expressed in our diverse and pluralistic Jewish world.
Following B’nei Mitzvah, students take the next step in their Jewish education through a year of study that culminates in a Confirmation service. Confirmation is a ceremony connected to the Jewish Festival of Shavuot, with Moses receiving the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. Students lead the service, including sharing their original reflections on prayers, and their connection to Judaism and Jewish values.
At Beth Israel, we offer free adult education classes that are open to both synagogue members and the community at large. We also offer monthly book groups, Shabbat dinners with featured speakers, Shabbat Morning Torah Study, and programs on a variety of topics. We encourage you to get involved in the programs that interest you. Or if you have a program to suggest, let us know.
